TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Throughout the fall, Seminoles.com will take a closer look at this year’s class of newcomers. The eighth ‘Getting To Know’ segment features freshman forward/midfielder Tori Abnathy from George Jenkins High School in Lakeland, Fla.

Florida State welcomes 12 new players in 2012 including 11 freshmen and one transfer. Two student-athletes joined the Seminoles a semester early enrolling during the spring 2012 semester, while this year’s class also includes four international players.

What one word comes to mind when you hear Florida State Soccer?

Where has been your favorite place to visit?
Washington D.C.

Who is your biggest role model?
My dad

Favorite soccer team?
Manchester United

What kind of pillow pet do you have and what is its name?
It is a giraffe named Geoffrey

Biggest soccer moment?
Making it to states three out of four times in high school, but unfortunately we never won.

Favorite athlete?
I don’t really have one

What is one thing you can’t live without?

Which do you prefer Twitter, Facebook, both or neither?

Why did you choose Florida State?
I loved the campus and the location is not too far from home. They just have an amazing soccer team and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
