Senior Vicky Gill won NCAA South Region Athlete of the Year for the 2003 season after finishing first in the race held November 15, 2003. Gill and other athletes and coaches were honored last night at a banquet held in conjunction with the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Gill will race alongside the women’s team, who earned their second at-large bid in school history at the regional meet. The women’s award was presented by the Women’s Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association. The winner of the region is automatically selected and submitted for the NCAA Athlete of the Year honors.
