TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The No. 9 ranked Florida State men’s golf team will play in its second event of the spring season as it travels to play in The SunTrust Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostic Golf Course at the University of Florida Feb. 12-13. The Seminoles finished in a tie for 10th place at the season opening Mauna Lani Invitational last week and enter the Gator Invitational looking to earn their fourth top five team finish in their six events this year.

THE 2010 SUNTRUST GATOR INVITAIONAL FIELD
No. 9 Florida State is joined by No. 4 Florida, No. 27 North Florida, No. 31 Duke, No. 33 LSU, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Lamar, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, UAB and UCF in the 14 team SunTrust Gator Invitational Field. The Mark Bostic Golf Course is a par 72, 6,701 yard course located less than a mile from the University Florida campus. The course went through a $4 million renovation in 2001, which included: new tees and fairway green surfaces and 140-plus bunkers.

SEMINOLES’ LAUER NAMED TO BEN HOGAN AWARD WATCH LIST
Seminole senior Seath Lauer (Huntington, Ind.) has been named to the Watch List for the 2010 Ben Hogan Award presented by Chesapeake Energy. The Hogan Award is the most prestigious in men’s college golf and is presented annually to the top men’s player in Division I, II, or III, NAIA or NJCAA. Lauer is one of three ACC players (also Brendan Gielow of Wake Forest and Matt Hill of NC State) on the early list. The Hogan Award semifinalists will be announced April 14 and three finalists will be named on May 11. The winner of the event will be presented with the award at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas on May 24.

FLORIDA STATE’S INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
Seminole sophomore Brooks Koepka (Wellington, Fla.), who finished in second place in the individual standings at the Mauna Lani Invitational, is the No. 3 ranked individual player in all of college golf by GolfWeek Magazine. Senior Seath Lauer is the 48th ranked individual player in the nation giving Florida State two players ranked in the nation’s top 50.

FLORIDA STATE FINISHES FOURTH AT 2009 GATOR INVITATIONAL
Drew Kittleson finished in a tie for ninth place in the individual Standings and the Seminole men’s golf team finished in fourth place in the team standings at the 2009 SunTrust Gator Invitational. The Seminoles tied for the best round of the final round of play as they counted four scores of par or better – including Kittleson’s two-under par 69 – to jump from eighth place after two rounds to take a fourth place finish in the event. Kittleson finished the event with a one-under par score of 209 as he carded scores of 71-70-68. He was two under par over the final two rounds the event.
