Golf: Paint It Pink

Nov. 1, 2011

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) –
The Florida State University women’s golf team helped raised $1,685 for the Florida State Paint it Pink Campaign benefitting the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital through its participation in the 18th Annual Tee off for Tots Golf Tournament at Golden Eagle Country Club on October 24. It marked the second consecutive year the Seminoles have participated in the event; they have now helped raise over $3,500 for the very worthy cause.

The Seminoles took part in the golf tournament by shooting tee shots for the participants in the event at one of the par 3 holes on the golf course. Each participating golfer donated $20 for one of the Florida State team members to hit their tee shot and help them make a birdie on the hole.

“It’s important for us to participate in the Paint it Pink campaign,” said head coach Amy Bond. “It’s a great way for the women on our team to become active members of the community and help raise money for breast cancer. It’s a lot of fun when we can get each member of the foursome to contribute to a great cause.”

Donations can be made to the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center by going online at www.tmhfoundation.org.
