Leonard Hamilton, head coach of the Florida State basketball team, will host the first of two Roundball Club luncheons Wed, Jan. 5, at 11:30 in the third floor ballroom at the University Center Club on the Florida State campus. Hamilton and his staff will gather along with friends and alumni as they discuss game strategy, team goals and take questions from those in attendance. At 11-4 and 1-0 in ACC play, Florida State is considered to be the top defensive team in the nation. The Seminoles rank No. 1 nationally in field goal percentage defense and third in blocked shots. Florida State counts wins against No. 15 Baylor (Dec. 25, 68-61) and Clemson (Dec. 12, 75-69) on its resume as it works to play in its school record tying third consecutive NCAA Tournament.
Florida State will travel to play its next game at Virginia Tech Saturday in a game beginning at 3:00 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The Seminoles have won three consecutive games against the Hokies including last season’s 63-58 win at home in the Donald L. Tucker Center.
The Seminoles return home Jan 12 at 9 p.m. to face No. 1 ranked Duke. Approximately 1,000 tickets remain for the Seminoles game against the Blue Devils which tips at 9:00 p.m. That game will also be nationally televised on ESPN. For tickets, go to seminoles.com or call 888-FSU-NOLE.
Hamilton’s second Roundball Club luncheon will be Feb. 15.
Additionally, fans can now order single game tickets for the seven remaining men’s home basketball games. In addition to Duke, the Seminoles will play host to NC State and Boston College during the month of January and Wake Forest, Virginia, Miami and North Carolina in February and March.
