TALLAHASSEE, Fla.Terry Horner headed into the finals of the USA Diving 1-meter springboard in first place and with a pro-Florida State crowd on his side. Unfortunately he was also up against a diving veteran, two-time Olympian Troy Dumais. Horner and Dumais went back and forth through the six round finals but ultimately Dumais prevailed and Horner finished in second place.

Horner scored a total of 398 points in the finals, 26.90 points behind Dumais. His best dive came in the third round, a reverse two and a half somersault tuck which earned him 76.50 points. Horner’s second place finish garnered the Tomahawk Diving Club 20 points and a third place ranking through the first men’s finals.

On the boards today for the Seminoles is Aleia Monden in the Women’s 10-meter dive. Incoming Seminoles Nick Klein and Michael Nuebuche will be competing in the Men’s 10-Meter dive.
