Huster Honored For Academics

Tori Huster, a junior member of the No. 9 ranked Florida State women’s soccer team, has been named to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-District 3 second team as presented by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSida). The exercise science major has a 3.80 cumulative grade point average and has excelled both academically and athletically throughout her career as a Seminole. It marks the second consecutive season that Huster has been named to the Academic All-District 3 second team.

Huster, who was awarded Florida State’s Golden Torch in 2009 for having the highest GPA among all female students, is a two-time Academic All-District honoree and a two-time ACC Honor Roll selection during her academic career. She has also earned Dean’s List honors twice (fall 2009 and spring 2010).

On the field she helped Florida State to a second place finish in the ACC standings with a 13-4-1 overall record and a 7-2-1 mark in conference play. She earned All-ACC Second Team honors as she currently ranks second on the team in both goals (six) and total points (17). Huster is tied for the team lead with three game winning goals.

Huster has helped lead Florida State to four victories over ranked teams with its most recent coming on the road against No. 11 Boston College. The Seminoles also earned victories over ranked Washington, Wake Forest and Duke teams and will play in the ACC Tournament beginning Nov. 4 against the Demon Deacons.

Florida State will participate in its 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament when the field for the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship is reveled on Monday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU. The first round of the tournament is scheduled for Nov. 12.
