Freshman Whitney Wenglasz will play in her first NCAA regional championship this week in Gainesville. Her participation in the regional championship is the culmination of a tremendous freshman season that has seen her get acclimated to college life, become a full-time member of the Seminoles’ starting lineup and now held led the team into the NCAA Tournament. Before leaving for Gainesville, Fla., and the regional championship, Wenglasz stopped by for a short chat with seminoles.com.

How have you grown as a person during your freshman year?
“I feel that I have grown a great deal during my first year away from college. I’ve learned how to live on my own and be independent.”

Do you have any pre-tournament rituals? Are you superstitious at all?
“I really don’t do anything before tournaments except practice and listen to my iPod.”

Which course is your favorite golf course to play?
“The course I enjoy playing the most is Southwood here in Tallahassee. It is a fun course to play and it has helped me prepare for the many different types of courses that we play all season long.”

What is one thing that you cannot live without?
Sadly, I can not live without my phone.”

What is in your CD player/on your iPod right now?
“Sugar by Flo-rida is on my iPod right now.”

Would you rather live in the city or in the country?
“I am a country girl and would much rather live as far away from the city as possible.”
