TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State indoor volleyball team will welcome Florida A&M on Saturday for a potential five-set scrimmage in Tully Gym, starting at 10 a.m. This will be the final competition for the Seminoles this spring. “This is our last opportunity to measure our individual improvements,” FSU head coach Chris Poole said. “We still need to be focused on getting better even though we don’t have all of the pieces to our team since our seniors are gone and our incoming athletes aren’t on campus yet.”
The Seminoles have played against four other teams this spring on the road, taking five of six sets against South Alabama and Southern Mississippi on Feb. 25, before falling to Florida and UCF in Gainesville in late March.
“The match against Florida was competitive,” Poole said. “We just were limited with what we can do since we don’t have our full team, but we’re working through that in order to improve. We have some players that are working in different positions and looking to prove themselves and I think that will help us in the fall.”
Former indoor standouts Katie Horton and Hailey Luke are expected to be in action on Friday and Saturday as the No. 4 Florida State beach volleyball team will host the Staybridge Suites Invitational that will feature South Carolina, Georgia State, FIU, No. 16 TCU and FAU. The Seminoles are scheduled to play on Friday at 4:45 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
