FLORIDA STATE ENTERS THE 2011-12 SEASON LOOKING TO…
…Earn at least 20 wins for the fourth consecutive season. It would mark the first time in school history the Seminoles would have won at least 20 games in four consecutive seasons in school history;
…Earn at least 10 wins in the ACC for the fourth consecutive season. It would mark the school record fourth consecutive season the Seminoles would have won at least 10 ACC games in the same season;
…Finish in the top four of the ACC standings. It would mark the school record fourth consecutive season the Seminoles have finished in the upper four of the ACC standings;
…Advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. It would mark the first time in school history that Florida State would have played in four consecutive NCAA Tournaments;
…Finish the season included in the top 25 of the national rankings. It would mark the third time in the last four years and only the second time in school history the Seminoles have been ranked in the final poll of the season in consecutive seasons. The Seminoles were ranked No. 19 in the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ in 2011 and were most recently ranked in consecutive polls following the 1992 (No. 20) and 1993 seasons (No. 11). The Seminoles have been ranked it the final polls of the 2009 (No. 22) and 2011 seasons (No. 19) after being ranked in the final poll only six times in the first 61 years of program history.
