With a capacity crowd on hand, the Florida State men’s basketball team officially opened the 2017-18 season with the wildly popular Jam With Ham at Tully Gym. The Seminoles delighted the Seminole faithful with an 80’s-themed party that kept the fans on their feet with a stirring 3-point shooting contest, a mind-bending dunk fest and a spirited scrimmage.
The action on the court brought back the days when Dave Cowens, Reggie Royals, Lawrence McCray and Ron King ruled the college basketball world and made Tully one of the venerable gym one of the toughest places to play in all of college basketball.
The current Seminoles, who will compete for the ACC Championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament, created one highlight reel play after another as they kept the crowd on its feet throughout the entire event.
Senior Braian Angola won the 3-point shooting contest while junior Terance Mann won the dunk contest for the first time in his career.
Florida State opens its exhibition season on Oct. 26 as it plays host to Central Missouri. The Seminoles face Thomas University on their second exhibition game on November 7. The regular season tips-off against George Washington on Nov. 14 at the Tucker Center.
