Tallahassee, Fla. – Redshirt junior Garrett Johnson (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Baptist Academy) opened his outdoor shot put season shattering the FSU school and Mike Long Track facility records, tossing a 67’3.5″ (20.51m) on day two (March 4, 2006) of the 2006 Snowbird Invitational meet at the Mike Long Track and Field Complex in Tallahassee, Fla.

“A school record in the first meet is certainly impressive for any athlete,” said head coach Bob Braman. “More importantly it prepares him for NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships next week in a big way.”
