Kallman Earns National Honor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State University freshman defender Kassey Kallman (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) has been named to the national team of the week. Kallman was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer All Rookie Team as a second team member last week.

Kallman has been a key component for the swarming Seminole defense which has allowed only one goal in the NCAA tournament and ranked as the top defense in the ACC allowing only 15 goals all season. Kallman has played a team high 1932 minutes this season and has started all 21 games. She also contributed to the Seminole attack registering three goals and three assists, including the game winning goal against Central Florida.

In addition, the Seminoles (16-5-1) moved up to No. 4 in the national rankings as sponsored by TopDrawerSoccer – up from their previous No. 6 ranking last week. The Seminoles’ are currently playing in their 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament and have advanced to the Elite Eight for the sixth straight year after they defeated Middle Tennessee, South Florida and Marquette during the first three rounds. Florida State now travels to play No. 1 Stanford on Friday, November 26th at 10:00pm.
