Kim Small Earns Spot On Women’s Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — –
Florida State women’s basketball Head Coach Sue Semrau announced that Kim Small, a 5-7 freshman guard from Greensboro,N.C., has been invited to join the team as a walk-on this season.


Small, who attended W.H. Page High School, averaged 15.4 points,
10.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists as a senior and was pegged Most Valuable
Player of her team. An all-conference performer in her final two seasons,
Small garnered the Coach’s Award and honorable mention all-state honors in
1998-99. Small also competed in track and soccer and was a member of the
academic honor roll all four years. A freshman, Small is undecided on a
major.


“Kim’s work ethic has been a welcomed addition to our team,” Semrau
said. “She’s an intense competitor and a true team player and we are happy
that she is a part of the Seminole family.”


The Seminoles return 10 letterwinners and three starters from last
year’s squad. FSU defeated the Premier Players, 93-78, in overtime in its
first exhibition of the season and will host the Norkopping Flamingoes of
Sweden on October 14th at 7 p.m.
