TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Frida Kinhult, who became just the fourth freshman in school history to win an individual championship, has been named the ACC Co-Golfer of the Month for October. Kinhult averaged 68.50 strokes in six rounds, carded five rounds at below par and won the individual championship at the Jim West Challenge at the Kissing Tree Golf Course in San Marcos, Tex.

It marks the first time Kinhult has been named the ACC Golfer of the Month.

In leading the Seminoles to a second place team finish at the Jim West Challenge, Kinhult tied the school record for single round score with a 65 (in the second round), tied the school record for most strokes under par in a tournament at -14 in the Jim West Challenge and was one stroke from tying the all-time school record low for a three-round tournament at the Jim West Challenge (202). She carded five of six rounds under par and totaled four of six rounds during the month of October in the 60’s.

Kinhult has earned four top-10 finishes in the first four events of her career and was a total of 29 strokes UNDER par in those four fall events.

Kinhult shared the honor with Duke’s Virginia Elena Carta.
