TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senior Connor Knight was selected as the Men’s ACC Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday. Knight led the Seminoles to victory over Florida Southern by winning six events on Friday.
“Connor had a great meet,” FSU head coach Frank Bradley said. “Both individually and on relays Connor is turning into that dependent swimmer. He’s training very well and he stepped up on Friday.”
In the first of two sessions on Friday, Knight cruised to victory in the 200 fly with a time of 1:45.04, which is the fifth fastest mark in the nation this year. On top of his individual win, Knight helped the 200 medley (1:31.07) and 200 free (1:21.41) relays to season top times and first place finishes.
During the afternoon session, Knight swam the fastest time in the country this season in the 100 fly at 47.23 while contributing towards a pair wins in the 400 medley (3:19.45) and 400 free (3:01.69) relays.
“I’m happy that Connor was recognized for his efforts this weekend,” Bradley said. “He’s setting himself up to have a great end to his final season. Hopefully, he can continue to build off this and improve.”
Florida State will compete in the Georgia Tech Invite, which will run from Nov. 20-22. For more information on FSU swimming and diving check Facebook and Twitter.
