TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) –
Florida State University All-American golfer Brooks Koepka is a finalist for the Palm Beach County Amateur Athlete of the Year presented by the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame at its 35th Annual Induction Banquet and Annual Sports Awards celebration on March 27, 2011.
Koepka is a finalist for the Amateur Athlete of the Year Award along with Matt Greener (baseball, Cumberland University) and Lester Jean (football, Florida Atlantic University).
During a fabulous night of honoring local athletes, the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame will induct 10 sports legends into its Hall of Fame and select athletes of the years in five different categories. Golfers Meg Mallon and Ken Green will be among the outstanding athletes honored during the annual event.
Koepka was named as the 2010 ACC Golfer of the Year along with Virginia’s Ben Kohles. He became only the second Seminole golfer to earn ACC Golfer of the Year honors following Christian Raynor in 1994. He finished his junior season with the Seminoles with a 72.11 stroke average.
Koepka would then lead the Seminoles to a school best third place finish at the 2010 NCAA Championship tournament.
