For Koepka, it is his highest finish in the FedEx Cup. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native made his mark with his astounding U.S. Open victory on June 18 at Erin Hills, shooting a 16-under 272. Koepka had the lowest combined score in the 2017 major championships, finishing at 21-under total against a total par of 1140.
At the Masters (T11), U.S. Open (first), The Open Championship (sixth) and the PGA Championship (T13), Koepka never finished below 13th in the field.
In 24 PGA Tour events played in the 2017 season, Koepka registered one victory, two runner-up finishes, seven Top 10 finishes and 13 Top 25 marks. He only missed four cuts.
Berger, who hails from Plantation, Fla., posts his second-highest FedEx Cup finish after ending in 11th when he was named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2015. Berger played in 26 PGA Tour events this season, winning one, finishing runner-up twice, garnering six Top 10 finishes and 10 Top 25 finishes.
Koepka and Berger do not get much of a rest as they prepare to play in this week’s President’s Cup held Sept. 28-Oct. 1 at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J. Coverage of all four rounds will be on both the Golf Channel and NBC.
