TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State volleyball’s senior right side hitter Milica Kubura was named to the 2017-18 CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team on Thursday (Nov. 16). This is Kubura’s second CoSIDA Academic recognition, as she was named to the All-District team in 2015.
Kubura currently holds a 3.89 GPA and will graduate this semester with a degree in Actuarial Science. She has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team twice in her career, and was recently named an Outstanding Student in the Field of Math at Florida State. In preparation for a career in the field, Kubura has already passed two of the five exams needed to become an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
On the court Kubura has proven herself as a leader as well, becoming only the fifth Seminole in the rally scoring era to record 1,000 career kills. Her 326 kills this season leads the team, while her 94 total blocks have helped FSU maintain one of the toughest defenses in the conference this season.
Kubura’s 1,167 career kills is the second-most recorded in Florida State’s rally scoring history, while her 310 career total blocks ranks ninth in the rally scoring era.
This CoSIDA honor is Kubura’s fourth accolade of the 2017 season, as she was named Preseason All-ACC and ACC Player of the Week (Sept. 26), and was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Home2Suites Tallahassee Seminole Invitational earlier this year.
