Kylie Amato first joined the Florida State Athletic Academic Support Staff in 2002. Since that time, the Toomsuba, Mississippi native has been an integral member of the team at all levels and was appointed Assistant Director in the fall of 2008.
In addition to overseeing the academic progress of Nationally Ranked Women’s Tennis, Women’s Basketball and Men’s Baseball teams in the areas of course selection, academic eligibility and career preparation, Kylie makes sure they are attending class, tutoring sessions.
In her role as Assistant Director, Amato oversees the training of all new Athletic Academic Support staff ensuring that current advising guidelines and NCAA policies and procedures are recognized and adhered to. Additionally, she works closely with the FSU Bookstore in a proactive manner to deal with book related issues for all student-athletes.
Prior to joining FSU, Amato was a letter winner in volleyball at the University of West Alabama where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Moving into coaching thereafter, Amato joined the Northwestern State University Volleyball Program as a graduate assistant coach. While there she earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration.
Besides her current responsibilities as Assistant Director and Program Specialist, Amato is a staff representative to FSU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and is an active member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).
