Lady ‘Noles Place Second In Crimson Classic Cross Country Invitational

The Lady Noles nearly pulled off the biggest upset in the program’s history with their second place finish at the Crimson Classic Cross Country Invitational held at the University of Alabama. The University of South Florida, the defending South Region Champion, won the meet with a team total of 55 points edging out the Noles who finished close behind with 58 points.

Freshmen Amy Pleckaitis lead the Lady Noles with a 3rd
place finished and a personal best of 17:35 over the rolling 5000m
course. Brooke Bastien continued her strong showing with her time
of 17:54, good enough for 7th overall. The Lady Noles then went
on to finish 15th Katie Jeffrey 18:05, 16th Cynthia Campbell 18:05,
and 17th Kim Winn 18:09.

The outstanding performance by the Lady Noles is a giant
step toward their ultimate goal of a trip to the national championships
held later this fall at Iowa State University.
