TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State University women’s volleyball team fell in four games to the University of North Carolina, 15-10, 11-15, 15-10, 15-8 at Carmichael Auditorium Friday night in front of 512. The win brings the Tar Heels to 19-4 overall and 9-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Seminoles are now 15-9 overall and 3-6 in the conference.
“UNC served pretty tough and kept us off the net a little tonight,” FSU head coach Cecile Reynaud said. “We had some trouble running the middle.”
Senior Casey Simpson led the Tar Heels with 17 kills and 12 digs. Junior Krista Buchholz posted 15 kills. Senior Lisa Fryer added 12 digs. Sophomore Eve Rackham had 62 assists in the match.
“UNC’s outside hitters played pretty well,” Reynaud said. “Overall, North Carolina played pretty well as a team.”
The Seminoles will return to action as they continue their road swing with a match against North Carolina State, on Saturday afternoon. The Tribe took the first match of the season between the two teams in four games in Tully Gymnasium.
