Lady Seminoles Finish First Day Of Lady Gator Invitational In 13th Place

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
In the first tournament of the season, the Lady Seminoles traveled to Gainesville to participate in the Lady Gator Invitational at the University of Florida Golf Course. At the conclusion of day one, Florida State was in 13th place with a team score of 312. The Lady Seminoles will look to improve upon today’s performance as they return to action tomorrow.


Sophomore Katie Quinney (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) led the Seminoles as she finished the day tied for 10th place. On the day, Quinney recorded a career-low score of 73, three over par. Prior to the outstanding performance on the day for Quinney, her previous low was 74.


Florida State’s sophomore Carrie Sordel (Windermere, Fla.) finished the day in 24th place with a score of 76. Junior Kristen Tamulis (Naples, Fla.) scored eight over par and finished the day in 39th place with a score of 78. Senior Alison Zimmer (Tallahassee, Fla.) recorded a score of 82 and ranked in 67th place.


LSU and Alabama each placed two individuals in the top ten on the first day of competition. LSU’s Meredith Duncan was in first place after day one with a score of 69, one under par. LSU, with a score of 298, is currently in a three-way tie with Florida and Georgia for the first place position.
