TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s volleyball team will look to get back on track in ACC competition this weekend, as they start a conference-home stand with the NC State Wolfpack. The Noles will return to action after dropping a four-game match against intra-state rival, No. 12 Florida. The Seminoles enter Friday nights match with an 11-5 record, 9-2 at home. The Pack enters this weekend with a 5-9 record, 0-3 in the conference.
Norisha Campbell continues to lead the Seminoles this season, as the junior from Universal, Texas has notched a .345 hitting percentage this season so far. She leads the squad in kills with 211, and kills per game at 3.52. Campbell is joined at the net by sophomore co-captain Alex Sevillano. The Clearwater, Fla., native is hitting .285 with the second-most kills on the team with a mark of 208. Sevillano also owns the team-lead in digs, with 144. With two capable hitters approaching the net, the Lady Seminoles have counted on setters Jennifer Anderson and Jamie Hibbard to get them the ball. Anderson, a freshman from Minier, Ill., started the season off strong collecting 434 assists over 33 games. Hibbard has come in for the injured Anderson and performed well, notching 291 assists of her own.
The Pack is led by Crystal Shannon, who is leading North Carolina State with a .329 hitting percentage with 662 assists. The Pack’s leading hitter is Williams, who has totaled a team-leading 183 kills, but has struggled with control only hitting .118.
The Noles will take the court at 7:00 p.m. for their first home ACC match of the season. FSU will follow the Friday night game with another conference match in Tully on Sunday afternoon, as they take on North Carolina at 1:00 p.m. The Sunday match will be broadcast on Sunshine Network.
