TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team is set to play host to No. 28 LSU and unranked Florida Atlantic at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center on the Campus of Florida State University this weekend. The Seminoles enter the contest with a 3-1 record. The Tigers of LSU are 5-0 on the season and Florida Atlantic has a record of 2-2.
This weekend the Seminoles will their first ranked opponent since their bout with the Lady Commodores of Vanderbilt on January 27th. The LSU Tigers have a one-game edge on the Seminoles in the all time series, which stands at 4-3. Last season, the Seminoles lost a close match to the Tigers, 4-3, in Baton Rouge. The match scheduled for Sunday against FAU is the first meeting between the two teams. The Seminoles will look for leadership from seniors Jessica Balbuena and Alida Gallovits.
Saturday’s match against LSU begins at 11 a.m. The match against FAU begins at 11 a.m. as well. After the weekend homestand against the Tigers and Owls, the Lady Seminoles will take on the Lady Tigers of Auburn University on Friday, February 15th.
