Latavia Coleman Earns ACC Tournament Honors

March 9, 2000

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Atlantic Coast Conference announced
Monday night that Florida State senior Latavia Coleman was named to the
ACC All-Tournament First Team. The Macon, Ga., native was the only
player, not a member of the final two teams, to garner such an honor.

With 31 points in the Seminoles’ come-from-behind win over
Maryland, Coleman tied for fifth best in single-game points in ACC
Tournament history. Her 15 field goals also tied an ACC Tournament
record for field goals in a single game and was a season-high for the
forward. In two tournament games, Coleman averaged 23 points and six
rebounds.

The last time FSU had an ACC All-tournament first teamer was in
1993 when Tia Paschal, who, ironically, also scored 31 points vs.
Maryland in the tournament that year, earned the honor.

Despite missing the majority of her junior year, Coleman still
finished her FSU career ranking fifth in points with 1,428 and fifth in
scoring average at 15.7 points per game and 10th in rebounds with 603.
