Laurel Wentz is a registered dietitian and certified specialist in sports dietetics. During high school in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Laurel competed in volleyball, swimming, and track and field.
In 2004 Laurel earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State with honors in nutritional sciences. She earned a Master of Science degree in food science and human nutrition from the University of Florida in 2006. At the University of Florida, she also completed her dietetic internship with rotations at Shands Healthcare and Gator Sports Nutrition.
In 2006, Laurel began pursing a PhD in nutritional sciences working with Dr. Emily Haymes in the FSU College of Human Sciences. Her dissertation focuses in the dietary influences on stress fractures in female runners. Within the athletic department, Laurel works as the sports dietitian for Florida State athletes, helping them to utilize nutrition as a training tool to improve their performance.
Laurel is married to Jason Wentz.
