Layne Herdt joined the Florida State Sports Information team in July of 2007 as a graduate assistant and is in charge of the media efforts for the swimming and diving and men’s tennis teams. Before joining the Seminole staff, he worked at WCTV in Tallahassee for four years mostly as a sports videographer and reporter. While at WCTV, Herdt covered three Daytona 500’s, a BCS National Championship game, numerous high school state championships from North Florida and South Georgia, and countless Florida State sporting events.
Herdt, a native of Arvada, Colo., is a 2003 Florida State graduate and is currently pursuing his master’s degree iat FSU in Sport Management. He was married in August of 2007 to his lovely bride Christina and the two of them enjoy traveling as evident by their recent trip to Budapest, Hungary with their church. The two also love to sit themselves in front of the television for Survivor and 24. He lists he favorite teams as the Seminoles, Cincinnati Bengals and Colorado Rockies.
