Tallahassee, Fla. – Junior transfer Andrew Lemoncello (St. Andrews, Scotland/Stirling) earned his second Atlantic Coast Conference Performer of the Week honor, taking the accolades for the week of September 26 to October 3, 2004. He finished fourth overall at the Notre Dame Invitational, amongst nine of the nation’s top 30 programs (MONDO National Poll). He ran the second fastest 8K time in Florida State school history helping the Seminoles to a sixth place finish. Lemoncello stepped into the number one position in the lineup for the injured Luke Beevor, who also earned conference honors earlier in the season.
“It’s a great honor and very deserving for Andrew,” said head coach Bob Braman. “He ran an awesome race against a field that included nine of the best programs in the country. He’s as good as anyone we’ve ever had, he just has to continue to stay healthy and run well through the remainder of the season.
Lemoncello was named performer of the week for September 6-12, 2004 after winning his first intercollegiate meet. The St. Andrews, Scotland native recorded a 25:35.20 on the 8K Miccosukee Greenway course at the Florida Intercollegiate Championships. The 16-time Scottish National Champion led Florida State to a narrow three-point win over fellow NCAA South Region opponent Samford. The Noles posted 30 points in the second team victory of the season.
