Listen To The Florida State/Miami Volleyball Match Live On The Internet Tonight

CORAL GABLES, Fla.The Florida State volleyball team will look to tie the Hurricanes in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings when it battles intrastate rival Miami on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Knights Sports Complex.  The match–which is the final road outing of the season for the Seminoles–will air live on the Internet and information for the broadcast is listed at the bottom of the page. 


 


After a shaky start in the first half of the season, Florida State has won four of its last six matches and currently sits in eighth place in the conference with a 7-10 ACC and 9-16 overall record.  The Seminoles are returning to the courts after splitting matches against Virginia and Virginia Tech last weekend.  The Seminoles fell to the Cavaliers in five games Friday before sweeping the Hokies on Saturday in Blacksburg. 


 


Miami (13-12, 8-9 ACC) also returns to the court Tuesday after splitting matches against Virginia Tech and Virginia last weekend. The Hurricanes defeated the Hokies, 3-1, Friday before falling to the Cavaliers in three games the following evening.


 


The Seminoles are hitting .190 and holding its opponents to the same mark.  FSU is also averaging an impressive and league-third-best 2.70 blocks per game.  As a team, the Hurricanes are hitting .217 while holding their opponents to .206 hitting percentage and 15.1 kills per game.


 


In their last outing against the Hurricanes, the Seminoles fell 3-1 in Tallahassee on Oct. 11.  The Seminoles have yet to beat the `Canes in ACC play. 


 


Florida State is led by Andreza Santos who is knocking down 3.32 kills per game and hitting .284. Lauren Scott if averaging 1.11 blocks per game and Jessica Skower is dishing out 8.86 assists per game. Defensively, the Seminoles are led by Summer Weissing’s 4.45 digs per game.
