LOUISIANA TECH QUOTES

LOUISIANA TECH HEAD COACH CHRIS LONG
Opening statement:
“I congratulate Florida State. I thought they played well and made some big shots at key times. I’m proud of my team, I’m proud of Tasha Williams gutting it out and playing 35 minutes. It was the little things that made the difference in this ballgame. They got some good offensive rebounds and some put-backs. We didn’t do a few things, like keeping them off the free throw line, and that really made the difference.”

On the decision to play Tasha Williams, despite her injury:
“I felt like she would play tonight. The frustrating thing is that here’s a kid who has had a great career at Louisiana Tech and entering her senior year gets hurt pretty seriously. I don’t know if having her healthy would have made a difference tonight because Florida State is a great team, but I just hate it for her.”

On the first half foul trouble:
“The foul trouble was very frustrating. I thought coming into this game that we needed to keep them off the line. They are a very good penetrating team and with the foul trouble, I had to go to the bench more than I would have liked, which hurt our scoring.”

GUARD TASHA WILLIAMS
On ankle injury suffered during practice earlier in the week:
“I won’t make any excuses, I wasn’t mentally prepared tonight. It (the injury) took away my first step.”

GUARD AARICA RAY-BOYD
On Florida State guard Holly Johnson who scored a game high 25 points:
“I’ll give her credit, she is a great shooter.”
