Mark Bresnahan is in the midst of his third year in the Florida State Athletic Department as the Assistant Director of Facilities and Events where he has operations oversight for men and women’s basketball, women’s track, cross country, and the three time National Champion men’s track team. He serves as the game day operations manager for these sports and also is in charge of the daily operations, maintenance, and facility projects at the respective venues.
Bresnahan served as the assistant tournament director for the 2008 NCAA Baseball Regional and Super Regional at Dick Howser Stadium and is now commissioned to serve as the tournament manager for the 2010 NCAA basketball tournament games that will take place at the Tucker Center. He is also responsible for overseeing the six million dollars in accountable property for athletics.
Bresnahan garnered his initial athletic experience at the University of Missouri as an undergrad where he served as one of two students on the Intercollegiate Athletic Board. In addition, he was Student Body President his senior year and was in charge of Mizzou Spirit for three years. He graduated from Mizzou in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Business. Immediately after Mizzou he attended Western Illinois University and earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Management while serving as the Graduate Assistant overseeing the Sport Club program. After WIU, Mark worked as the Assistant Manager of Operations for the Harvard University Athletic Department for four years. He assisted in the oversight of the largest athletic department in the country. His main responsibilities were game management and facility projects.
