TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senior Landon Marzullo capped off a successful weekend with his third title at the Southeast Zone Championships on Sunday at the Morcom Aquatic Center. In total, Seminole divers earned 12 berths to the U.S. National Championships.
“Landon was definitely our MVP this weekend,” FSU diving coach Patrick Jeffrey said. “This weekend was amazing, our kids dove very consistent and in this type of meet that’s what you need to do.”
“I think this meet is going to go down in history for Seminole diving, “Marzullo said. “We got just about everybody who competed this weekend into Nationals.”
Marzullo won his second individual event of the meet taking home first place on the platform. Sophomore Nick Klein took home fifth-place to also earn a trip to Nationals.
“This definitely builds my confidence heading into Nationals,” Marzullo said. ” There are a lot of things I could have done better but there were a lot of things I did really well and I’m looking forward to Nationals now.”
Next up for the Seminole divers is the United States National Championships in College Station, Texas. The meet runs August 10-15, for a meet preview and results log onto www.seminoles.com.
