McDougall Named ACC & Nat’l Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State second baseman Marshall
McDougall was named the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week
by Collegiate Baseball. He was also tabbed the ACC Player of the Week
for the third time this season. The junior turned in one of the most
amazing performances in NCAA Division I history as he went 7-for-7 with
6 home runs and 16 RBI in Sunday’s FSU 26-2 victory over Maryland.


McDougall hit for the home run cycle with a solo HR in the second
inning, a 2-run HR in the sixth inning, 3-run HRs in the fourth, seventh
and ninth innings, and a grand slam in the eighth inning. He set NCAA
all-time single game records for home runs (6), RBI (16) and total bases
(25). The former NCAA records were 5 home runs in a game, 14 RBI in a
game and 23 total bases in a single contest. Additionally, McDougall
set an FSU and ACC record with seven hits in one game.


For the weekend at Maryland, McDougall hit .800 (12-for-15) with
7 home runs, 2 doubles, 20 RBI and 10 runs. He had a 2.33 slugging
percentage for the Seminoles in the three-game sweep.


McDougall now leads the ACC in batting average (.425), hits
(96), home runs (23), RBI (86) and runs (84).
