TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – The Florida State Men’s Basketball team will celebrate its NCAA Tournament Elite Eight season as Head Coach Leonard Hamilton and his staff hosts the Seminoles’ annual honors banquet at the University Center Club inside of Doak Campbell Stadium on the FSU campus on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. A social hour will begin at 6:00 with the program set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Florida State advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament for the first time under Hamilton and for only the third time in school history this past season. The Seminoles finished with a 23-12 record, won the Jamaica Classic and played in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and for the sixth time in the last 10 years. Florida State was one of two ACC teams which advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, defeated a near school-record six nationally ranked teams and three teams seeded higher than them in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
Hamilton and his staff will honor the careers of seniors Phil Cofer, Braian Angola and Brandon Allen who helped the Seminoles to two NCAA Tournament and two NIT appearances, as well as 16 victories over nationally ranked teams during their careers.
Admission for the event is $40 – please RSVP to Renee Andrews in the basketball office at (850) 644-1461 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Parking is free at the University Center Club visitor’s lots just outside of the stadium.
Plan now to celebrate one of the historic NCAA Tournament runs in school history as the Seminoles became one of the nation’s great teams and best stories in college basketball.
