TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senior Terrell Baker scored 28 points to lead five Florida State players in double figures as the Seminoles closed their exhibition basketball schedule with a 95-87 win over the Converse All-Stars on Tuesday evening in the Leon County Civic Center.
“I thought we did some things very well,” said FSU head coach Steve Robinson. “We were very scrappy and we will need to be that way during the regular season. Of course, Terrell led the way tonight. Not just on offense, but with his all-around play.”
Baker hit 11-of-20 from the floor and also had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Florida State trailed by seven (80-73) with five minutes remaining but Ron Hale scored seven points and Baker added six in a 20-4 Seminole run over the next four minutes.
Hale added 19 points for FSU and Karim Shabazz chipped in with a
double-dobule of 18 points and 14 rebounds. Adrian Crawford (18) and Oliver Simmons (12) were the Seminoles’ other double figure scorers.
Former Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers guard Trevor Ruffin led all scorers with 31 points.
