Men’s Basketball Closes Road Schedule at NC State

FLORIDA STATE

The Seminoles dropped their fifth straight game on Saturday at Wake Forest, 67-65. FSU led by 19 points with eight minutes to play (57-38) before Wake rallied. Ron Hale led Florida State with 20 points and eight rebounds…Damous Anderson ran his double figure scoring streak to 12 straight games with a 10-point outing at Wake. He is averaging 13.8 points in that span on 62.5 percent shooting from the field (70-of-112)…The Seminoles outrebounded Wake Forest 31-24, marking the first time they have outrebounded an ACC foe since beating NC State on the glass 34-22 on Jan. 23. FSU is being outrebounded by 2.8 per game (34-7-31.9). That number jumps to 6.4 in ACC games (36.0-29.6)…Hale has scored 20 or more points in seven of Florida State’s 14 ACC games, 19 or more in 10 and 17 or more in 11. He is second in the league in scoring in ACC games at a 19.0 clip.

NC STATE

The Wolfpack are coming off a 74-60 non-conference win at home on Sunday over Tulane. Ron Kelley led four State players in double figures with 18 points. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak…Sophomore forward Kenny Inge, who leads NC State in rebounding (6.4 rpg) and is tied for the team lead in scoring (11.8 ppg), returned from a one-game suspension against Tulane. He came off the bench to score five points and grab seven rebounds in 20 minutes…The Wolfpack are hitting 37.8 percent from three-point range and are outrebounding their opponents by 6.7 per game (36.0-29.3)…NC State has posted a 13-3 record in Reynolds this year and is 587-176 all-time there.

THE GAME

Wednesday’s game marks the 25th meeting between Florida State and NC State and is the final game in storied Reynolds Coliseum…The Seminoles lead the all-time series 14-10 after a 71-59 victory in the first meeting of the season on Jan. 23 in Tallahassee. Ron Hale led FSU with 25 points and 10 rebounds…Florida State is 12-6 against the Wolfpack since joining the ACC in 1991-92. The Seminoles are 3-4 in Reynolds as ACC members and 4-7 there all-time…The two teams are tied for fifth place in the ACC standings along with Georgia Tech at 5-9.
