Men’s Basketball Returns Home to Take On Clemson

FLORIDA STATE

The Seminoles are coming off a 75-56 win at Georgia Tech on Saturday as Ron Hale matched a career-high with 24 points. The 19-point margin of victory was the biggest for FSU in an ACC road game…Hale leads the Seminoles in scoring and rebounding at 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He is averaging 17.1 points and 6.9 rebounds in his last 11 games…Sophomore point guard Delvon Arrington posted a career-high 13 assists against just two turnovers in the win against Georgia Tech. He ranks fourth in the ACC at 6.0 assists per game and is averaging 7.3 per game in his last nine games. Arrington’s assist-to-turnover ratio in that span is three-to-one…Florida State forced Georgia Tech into 24 turnovers on Saturday and its last four opponents are averaging 20.0 per game. On the year, the Seminoles are forcing their opponents into 17.4 miscues per game.


CLEMSON
The Tigers are coming off a 64-61 loss at home to Wake Forest on Saturday. After opening the season with 11 wins in its first 12 games, Clemson has dropped three of its last four…Senior guard Terrell McIntyre led the Tigers with 24 points against Wake Forest and is their leading scorer at 16.6 points per game. Senior forward Harold Jamison is second on the team in scoring at 13.3 points and ranks second in the ACC in rebounding at a 9.8 clip…Clemson is one of the best rebounding teams in the ACC, outrebounding its opponents by 6.2 per game…The Tigers are hitting 47.3 percent from the floor and holding their foes to 38.6 percent shooting but they hit just 59.5 percent from the free throw line.


THE GAME

Tuesday’s game marks the 27th meeting between Florida State and Clemson. The Seminoles own a 14-12 advantage in the series, which dates back to Dec. 28, 1951…The Tigers swept the season series a year ago, winning 86-65 at home on Jan. 13 and 78-49 in Tallahassee on Feb. 15…FSU’s loss to Clemson at home last season was its worst in Tallahassee in school history…Florida State is 9-6 against the Tigers since joining the ACC in 1991-92 but has lost four of the last five in the series…The Seminoles are 5-2 against Clemson at home since joining the ACC but the Tigers have won two straight in Tallahassee.
