MONTGOMERY, AL–The Florida State men’s golf team finished in second
place at the Alabama Spring Invitational at the Lagoon Park Golf Course in
Montgomery, AL. The Seminoles finished four strokes back of the University
of Georgia with a team total of 874.
Barry Dyche fired the low round of the tournament today to jump into a
third-place tie with Jason Opal of Central Florida. Dyche, a senior from
Pace, FL, shot a six-under par 66 in the final round to finish with a
three-round total of 215. Fellow senior Jason Pool finished the tournament
one stroke back of Dyche and tied for 5th. It is second top five finish in
a row for Pool. Pool ended the tournament even-par with a total of 216 and
tied with V.J. Trilio of Southern Mississippi. George McNeill used rounds
of 69, 77 and 74 to finish tied for 11th with three other golfers.
This finish marks the second consecutive second place showing for the
Seminoles. The Tribe finished in second at the Seminole Classic last week
at the Golden Eagle Country Club.
Jeremy Parrott of Georgia finished one stroke better than teammate Ryuji
Imada for medalist honors. Parrott ended the tournament four-under par.
