Men’s Golf In 9th Place At Tournament Of Champions

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Florida State University men’s golf team is
in ninth place after the first two rounds of the Coca-Cola Tournament of
Champions at the Holston Hills Country Club. The Seminoles, who were led
by freshman Rusty Mosley (two-under par 142), shot a nine-over par score of
585 and will begin final round play in striking distance of the leaders for
the team championship.

Florida State shot the sixth-best team score of 286 in Monday’s
second round to move into ninth place. The Seminoles finished round one
in 11th place with a score of 299. Mosley, who shot a stellar 69 in the
second round, and senior Mark Donaldson, who shot an even better 68 in
round two, led all five team members who shot under, or three stokes or
less over par in round two.

Mosley begins the third round only six strokes behind the current
medalist, Cameron Yancey of Virginia who shot a two-round total of
eight-under par 136. Yancey has helped Virginia into the team lead
entering the third round.
