Men’s Golf in Fourth after One Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida State men’s golf team is in fourth place
after the first round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship at the
Queen’s Harbour Country Club in Jacksonville, FL. The Seminole team score
of 281 is four strokes behind first-round leader South Carolina.

The Seminoles are led by George McNeill. McNeill, a senior from N. Fort
Myers, FL, is tied for fourth after shooting an opening-round 68. Jason
Pool is tied for 16th after firing a 70. Mark Monroe ended the day with a
one-under par round of 71. Barry Dyche and Ryan Felty rounded out the
scoring for the Seminoles with rounds of 72 and 74, respectively.

The University of South Carolina is currently in first place, one stroke
ahead of Augusta State College. Three golfers are tied for the individual
lead with an opening round 77.

The second round on the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship will take
place tomorrow afternoon.
