Men’s Golf Takes 15th Place At The Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. – The Florida State men’s golf team took 15th place
at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships held at the Sawgrass Country
Club. Leading the Seminoles was junior Kris Hannah, who moved up 19 spots
to finish the tournament tied for 23rd place (+8, 224). Hannah and Tennessee’s Derrick Centers shot a 70, which was the lowest round of the day. Following Hannah for FSU was senior Ryan Felty, who finished the tournament in a tie for 39th place (+12, 228).

Senior Guy Bradley finished the tournament tied for 45th place with a
total score of 230 (+10). Other Seminoles finishers included junior Jason
Lopez in
67th place (+23, 239) and freshman Bradley Lusenhop at the 74th spot (+28,
244).

The University of Florida held off the University of North Florida to
capture the team title. Northwestern finished 10 strokes behind for third
place. After a playoff contest, UNF’s David Bennett won the individual
title, followed by Florida’s Camilo Benedetti and Northwestern’s Luke Donald.

The next tournament for Florida State will be the Puerto Rico Classic on
February 27 and 28 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
