Men’s Golf Team Completes Play At Mercedes Benz Collegiate

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. –
Florida State Freshman Jonas Blixt shot a third round score of 73 and finished in a tied for 38th place in the individual standings as the Seminole men’s golf team finished play in the 15th annual Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship at Sawgrass Country Club. Blixt closed the tournament with a pair of 73’s to earn the top finish for the Seminoles.

Florida captured the team and individual titles as the 54-hole event came to a close. The Gators stormed back from six strokes down to win the team title with a 10-over 874, defeating second round leader Alabama by five strokes. Matt Every added to the hardware by winning the individual title with a three-round total of 215, 1-under par.

Blixt finished as the Seminoles’ top finisher for the second consecutive event after earning medalist honors at the spring season opening Gator Invitational. Fellow freshman Song Jeon finished in a tie for 55th in the individual standings. Senior Matt Adcock carded a 74 in the final round to finish in a tie for 80th place.

Florida State next plays host to the Seminole Intercollegiate March 7-8 at Golden Eagle Country Club in Tallahassee
