JACKSONVILLE, FL — The Florida State men’s golf team finished in 16th place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship with a three-round team score of 934. The Seminoles finished four strokes ahead of the College of Charleston and five strokes behind the University of Virginia.
Sophomore Mark Donaldson led the Seminoles from start to finish. Donaldson ended the tournament alone in 20th place after a final-round 76. Freshman Matt Ackley posted the low score of the afternoon round for the Seminoles, finishing tied for 63rd with a three-round total of 236. Craig Cochran finished one stroke back of Ackley at 237 (t70) and Kris Hannah finished with a three-round total of 238 and tied for 74th. Nathan Bertsch rounded out the scoring for the Seminoles.
The Seminoles will host the Seminole Classic at the Golden Eagle Country Club next week. The tournament, held on Tuesday, March 9th and Wednesday, March 10th, will feature several of the top teams in the country. The tournament is open to the public and free of charge
