TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State men’s golf team travels to the
Puerto Rico this weekend for the Puerto Rico Collegiate Classic at the Rio
Mar Country Club. The 54-hole event features ten teams ranked in the top
30 in the latest Golfweek & Taylor Made magazines.

The Seminoles are coming off a 14th place finish at the Bridges
All-American last week in Bay St. Louis, MO. Sophomores Mark Donaldson and
Kris Hannah led the Seminoles, finishing tied for 28th with three-round
totals of 226. Donaldson opened the tournament with a 69 before finishing
in the middle of the pack.

This tournament marks the first time in Coach Lanford’s coaching
tenure that the Seminoles have traveled to an event outside the United
States. The Seminole golf team did travel to Scotland for a week in the
summer of 1997, but didn’t participate in a tournament.

The field includes: #1 Clemson, #3 Georgia, #6 Georgia Tech, #7
Texas, #8 Minnesota, #10 Northwestern, #11 North Carolina, #14 NC State,
#19 East Tennessee State, #29 Purdue, Florida State, Duke, Columbus State,
Wake Forest, Kent State, Virginia, Penn State and Missouri.
