TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State men’s tennis team swept #68
Florida Atlantic University 7-0 on Saturday at the Scott Speicher Tennis
Center to move their record to 8-0 on the season. With the win, this
year’s squad ties the 1995, 1984 and 1949 teams for the second best start
of a season ever at FSU.
Florida State, which did not lose a set all day, was led by Ty Braswell
who defeated Daniel Dauber at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 singles Yvo
Niks stayed undefeated on the season upending Arthur Novoseletsky 6-1,
6-3. Also, the No. 1 doubles teams of Braswell and Niks was victorious in
a close match winning against Andre Deolivera and Novoseletsky 9-8. On the
day Florid State won all three of it’s doubles matches.
The men’s tennis team plays again on February 28th when they travel to
Tampa to challenge the University of South Florida at 2:00 p.m.
