Men’s Tennis Downs Florida International

The #33 Florida State men’s tennis team defeated Florida International 6-1 on Friday at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. With the win, the Seminoles improve their record to 14-3 on the season.

Florida State opened the match by sweeping the doubles matches to capture the point. Leading the way was the No. 1 team of Ty Braswell and Davidson Kozlowski in a close match, 9-8, over Peter Hoffman and Jamie Fillol. Other winners were No. 2 Alex Golub and Yvo Niks, 8-5, and No. 3 Mike Ingham and Jay Travis 8-4.

In singles, the men won five of the six matches. Winners for the Noles were No. 2 Ty Braswell, No. 3 Yvo Niks, No. 4 Mike Ingham, No. 5 Steve Weinstein, and No. 6 Davidson Kozlowski.

The Seminoles have their final home match on Sunday when they face the University of Miami at 2:00 p.m. at the Speicher Center.
