TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State Seminoles continued their home schedule today with a 4-3 victory over the University of Central Florida Golden Knights. This improves the Noles record to 3-1 in regular season play.
Battling it out in the No. 1 singles spot was junior Xavier Luscan and junior Frederico Comancho. The transfer student from FSU defeated Comancho by a score of 6-2,6-2. Mike Ingham, at the No. 2 slot, contended against William Guerin. In the end of the hard fought three sets, Guerin defeated Ingham by a score of 3-6,7-5,3-6. Securing the No. 3 position, the Noles defeated the Golden Knights by a score of 6-4,6-4. In the No. 4 position, Jeff Scarella was defeated by Johan Westin by a score of 6-4,6-3. Continuing his winning streak, Noah Schnell defeats Augusto Sanabria by two sets of 6-4. In a long three sets, Rodrigo Laub continues his winning streak, to make it three. He defeated Ryan Winters at the No. 6 position. Another Nole to continue his winning streak at the No. 6 singles spot, was freshman Rodrigo Laub who pulled out the match against the Golden Knight, Ryan Winters, by a score of 6-1,1-6,6-1.
In doubles action, Schnell/Travis were defeated by the duo of Camancho/Guerin with a score of 8-2, at No. 1. With a close score of 8-6, the No. 2 tandem of Inghanm/Scarilla were defeated by Moore/Sanabria in a well fought match. The lone doubles point of the day was achieved by the two juniors Mooney/Luscan. They defeated Sanabria/Martinez by a score of 8-6, to end the match at No. 3 doubles.
