Men’s Tennis has Four Qualify for the 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –  The 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championship entries were released with four different Seminoles making the tournament. The Garnet and Gold will have three singles entries and one doubles entry.

“I am really proud to have so many entries in the Fall Championships,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “It shows our guys commitment to getting better this summer.”

Redshirt senior Lucas Poullain will be participating in both singles and doubles, with partner and fellow redshirt senior Jose Gracia. Poullain will be joining senior Guy Iradukunda and sophomore Alex Knaff in the singles competition.

“It is great to see Jose and Lucas qualify for doubles by winning the All-American consolations,” said Hultquist. “Lucas, Guy and Alex were all able to qualify as at-large bids due to their great play in the fall.”

All three singles competitors qualified as an ITA at-large selection and the Noles doubles pair qualified by winning the consolation bracket of the ITA All-American Championships.

The Seminoles were one of four teams to have three singles players selected to play in the Fall Championship, one of three teams with three singles players and one doubles pair, and one of four teams to have four total entries into the championships.

Play for the 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championships begins on Nov. 1 in Indian Wells, Calif.
