INDIAN WELLS, Calif. –  The 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championships, which hosts the top singles and doubles players from around the country, and caps off the Seminoles fall tennis, begins on Wednesday. The Florida State men’s tennis team has three singles entries and one doubles entry into the Fall Championships.

“We are thrilled to be well represented at the biggest tournament in the fall,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “This is a great opportunity for our guys to make runs in this big tournament and a great opportunity for them to improve their rankings.”

Redshirt senior Lucas Poullain will participate in both singles and doubles, with partner and fellow redshirt senior Jose Gracia. Gracia and Poullain earned the No. 3 seed in the doubles competition. Poullain will join senior Guy Iradukunda and sophomore Alex Knaff in the singles competition.

All three singles competitors qualified as at-large selections. The Noles doubles pair qualified by winning the consolation bracket of the ITA All-American Championships.

The Seminoles are one of four teams to have at least three singles players selected to play in the Fall Championship. Florida State is one of three teams with three singles players and one doubles pair, and one of five teams to have at least four total entries into the championships.

“This is an unbelievable site with great tennis facilities,” said Hultquist. “It is a first class event an I am excited for our guys to be playing in it.”

Play for the 2017 Oracle ITA Fall Championships begins on Wednesday with the singles round of 64 and the doubles round of 32.
